Inspired by a love of classic video games, Boss Monster: The Dungeon Building Card Game brings together 2 to 4 players in a competition to create the ultimate side scrolling dungeon. Players compete to attract and destroy the unfortunate adventurers, competing to interrupt each other to see who can build the most attractive and precious dungeon. The monster boss's goal is to become the first boss to collect ten souls, which are obtained when the hero is attracted and defeated - but the player can lose if his boss receives five injuries to the heroes who survived in his dungeon. Playing a monster boss requires you to combine two competing priorities: the need to attract heroes faster than your opponents and the need to kill those heroes before they reach your boss. Players can build one room per turn, each with its own damage and treasure value. More attractive rooms tend to do less damage, so an overly greedy boss can be invaded by mortal heroes. Players interact with each other by building rooms and playing with spells. Since different Heroes are looking for different types of treasures and rooms are being built at the same time (played face down and then opened), this means that each "construction phase" is a betting war. Spells are instantaneous speed effects that can give players an advantage or confuse opponents. As an independent card game with 150 cards, Boss Monster contains everything you need for 2 to 4 players.
